About Minesweeper
Minesweeper is perhaps the most intellectually demanding game ever included in a default operating system installation, hiding genuine probabilistic reasoning behind a simple click interface. The goal is to reveal every safe tile on a grid while flagging hidden mines — but the real game is about using number clues from revealed tiles to deduce which adjacent tiles are definitely safe and which are definitely dangerous. Advanced players learn to read complex number patterns that can definitively solve entire board sections through pure logical deduction, reaching a state where no guessing is required. When a guess IS unavoidable, understanding the probability of each option turns uncertainty into a calculated risk.
🎮How to Play Minesweeper
- 1The grid contains hidden mines. Your goal is to reveal all safe tiles.
- 2Click a tile to reveal it. Numbers indicate how many mines are adjacent.
- 3Use the numbers to logically deduce where mines are hidden.
- 4Right-click (or long-press) to place a flag on a suspected mine — on touch screens you can also switch the Dig / Flag toggle.
- 5Click a number whose mines are all flagged to open every square around it at once.
- 6Your first dig is always safe. Hit a mine and the game is over — clear every safe tile to win and unlock the next level.
