About Paper.io

Paper.io is a territory capture game where you extend your colored paper trail outward from your safe zone to claim new territory, then safely return to complete the enclosed area and make it yours permanently. The core risk is vulnerability during extension: your paper trail can be severed by opponents who cross it before you return home, eliminating you instantly. High-level play involves calculating when your territory is large enough to stop expanding and focus on defending, versus when to aggressively intercept opponents who are overextended — a continuous risk-reward calculus played in real time. This version includes competitive online modes.
