About Klondike Solitaire
Klondike Solitaire is the world's most played card game — estimates suggest more games of Klondike have been played since Windows 3.0 included it in 1990 than any other game in history. The game requires building four foundation piles from Ace to King in each suit by uncovering and manipulating cards in seven tableau columns. Despite its reputation as a patience game, Klondike involves genuine strategic decisions: which of several valid moves to make and whether to turn over a new stock card involves expected value reasoning about which card positions will become accessible. This version features the standard three-card draw variant that skilled players prefer.
🎮How to Play Klondike Solitaire
- 1Cards are dealt into 7 columns. The top card of each column is face-up.
- 2Build columns in descending order, alternating red and black suits.
- 3Move groups of ordered cards from column to column.
- 4Empty columns can only be filled with Kings.
- 5Move all cards to the 4 foundation piles (Ace to King by suit) to win.
