About Crazy Eights
Crazy Eights is a hand-shedding card game with a deceptively simple core — match the top discard pile card by rank or suit, or play an eight to change the declared suit — that generates genuine strategic depth around hand management and suit control. The strategic layer emerges from the suit declaration power of eights: controlling when you play your eights and which suit you declare can force opponents into draws while clearing your own hand efficiently. This version introduces the additional rules adopted by many modern variants, including wild Jack cards and reverse-direction plays that add layers of interaction beyond the base matching mechanic.
🎮How to Play Crazy Eights
- 1You and the AI are each dealt 7 cards; one card starts the discard pile.
- 2On your turn, play a card that matches the top card's suit or rank.
- 3Eights are wild — play one any time and choose the next suit.
- 4If you can't play, draw a card from the deck.
- 5The first player to empty their hand wins.
