About Go Fish
Go Fish is one of the first card games children learn, but its apparent simplicity conceals genuine memory and probability strategy when played at a competitive level. The optimal strategy involves not only remembering which cards you've seen or been told your opponents hold, but also tracking what cards each opponent has asked for — a request reveals what rank that player is actively collecting. Expert players use opponents' Go Fish! responses to infer the distribution of remaining cards in the deck, turning what seems like pure luck into a probability tracking exercise. This version includes difficulty levels that increase the AI's memory tracking to provide appropriate challenge.
🎮How to Play Go Fish
- 1You and the dealer each start with 7 cards.
- 2On your turn, tap a rank in your hand to ask the dealer for that rank.
- 3If they have it, they hand over every matching card and you go again; if not — Go Fish! Draw a card.
- 4Collect all four cards of a rank to make a book.
- 5When the cards run out, whoever has the most books wins.
