About Color Mixer

Color Mixer teaches the physics of light mixing through an experimental format where you adjust red, green, and blue light intensities to match a target color, discovering that the additive color mixing rules for light are fundamentally different from the subtractive mixing rules you learned with paints in art class. White light is produced by mixing all three primaries at full intensity — completely opposite to paint mixing where all colors combine to produce dark brown. This game has been used in physics and photography education to build intuition for RGB color space that purely verbal explanations consistently fail to convey.
