About Othello Shift

Othello Shift implements the classic two-player disc-flipping strategy game where you capture opponent discs by bracketing them with your own color along any straight line. Despite its simple rules — play a disc that flips at least one opponent disc — Reversi has remarkable strategic depth: strong players prioritize corner and edge positions that are permanently uncapturable once claimed, accept short-term material disadvantages to establish superior positional control, and use the concept of mobility — maintaining future move options — as a primary evaluation metric rather than disc count.
